MyCarPadi.com
Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This policy explains how MyCarPadi.com handles personal information when you browse our Nigerian car marketplace, create an account, publish listings or contact sellers and support.
1. Information we collect
We process information you provide, including your name, email address, profile details, photos, listings, comments, messages and support enquiries. Depending on what you share, this can include a phone or WhatsApp number, location and business details. Inspection requests include contact details, appointment preferences and notes. We also process authentication, device and request information needed to operate and protect the site.
2. Google sign-in
If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides basic account information such as your email address, name and profile picture where available. We use it to create your account and sign you in. This does not give MyCarPadi access to your Gmail messages or Google Drive files. Google’s privacy policy also applies to your use of Google.
3. How information is used
We use information to manage accounts, publish listings and profiles, save selected cars, connect buyers and sellers, deliver messages and notifications, coordinate inspection requests, administer seller subscriptions, respond to support enquiries and detect misuse. We process data as needed to provide requested services, protect legitimate security interests, comply with legal obligations or act on your consent where applicable.
4. Public and private information
Published listings, profile details, photos and public community activity can be viewed by visitors and indexed by search engines. Do not publish identity documents or sensitive financial information. Messages and guest enquiries are intended for their participants and recipients, not the public feed. Enquiries share your chosen reply details with the recipient. Seller contact details are accessed through designated contact actions. Inspection records are available to the requesting buyer and authorised coordinating administrators.
5. Providers and disclosures
We use Lovable Cloud for hosting, authentication and storage, and Google for Google sign-in. Providers process information needed to supply their services and may process it outside Nigeria. We may disclose information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect users or investigate misuse. External services such as WhatsApp and social media apply their own privacy policies.
6. Browser storage
Authentication mechanisms and browser storage keep you signed in and remember preferences. Local storage supports comparison selections and unfinished listing text drafts; session storage remembers dismissed installation offers. Clearing browser data may remove preferences or drafts and sign you out. Home-screen installation does not provide offline access.
7. Retention and security
We retain information as needed to operate accounts, handle enquiries, maintain security and meet applicable obligations. Retention needs vary by record. Access controls protect private data, and privileged administrator access requires two-factor authentication. No online service can guarantee complete security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can edit available profile settings and choose what to publish. Contact support through the Contact & support page to request access, correction or deletion, raise a privacy concern, withdraw consent where applicable or ask about your rights under Nigerian data protection law. We may need to verify your identity, and legal or security obligations may require some records to be retained. You may also raise concerns with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
9. Policy updates
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies the latest version. Check this page for current information about how your data is handled.
